Hi there,

I'm not a great sew person but I enjoy it. Have a very large and much loved stash of fabric. Love fabric.

I work full time and have a 10 month old, which leaves very little time for much else. A simple project that I could do in a day before can take weeks now.

I think this forum will be great for me personally and look forward to spending a little time here.

If I can't actually sew, I can at least think about it!

Hi Peach, and welcome!
Your little one will keep you quite busy for a while. Last summer my kids kept me hopping so much I didn't have time to sew a stitch. But after they went to bed, although I was much too tired to sew, I wasn't too tired to read sewing books. I think I read every last one the library had, and then some. I learned a lot, that is for sure.

Hey Peach,

Welcome to our great group. Even if you seldom sew it's still a fun place to hang out.

Glad to have you.

Hi Peach - welcome to the group. Hope to hear from you about your sewing adventures. When my DD was little, like you, I had little time for sewing while working a full time job. However, this will pass and your time can become your own in about 18 years. :bluesmile

Welcome Peach. Sewing/quilting are very addictive but don't despair. With a little planning, there are ways to steal a few minutes (maybe an entire hour!!!) to sew a seam or two.

Welcome, Peach,
I want to tell you about a book that you need to read.. Nancy Zieman wrote one just for busy people like you.. The title is 10, 20, 30 minutes to sew.. I saw a couple of her programs several years ago where she explained what the book was about.. I am 72 (almost 73) and have been sewing since I took Home Ec in the 8th grade back in the 40's, but Girlfriend, I tell you I learned a ton from this book.. Mostly I learned that I had no idea how to budget my sewing time.. The main thrust of the book is---"If you only have 10 minutes, do a ten minute sewing job, don't start a 30 minute job". Of course she is full of suggestions about which jobs take how much time, etc... See if you can get it from the Library and then, if you like it as much as I did, buy yourself one.
Anyway, welcome to this site, you will love it here.. Great people visit here every day.. With great knowledge of sewing skills, hints, new techniques, etc... and just plain old friendliness...

Hi Peach and welcome! I'm sure your little one keeps you hopping! I know we all suffer from the "no time to sew" thing -some more than others. This is such a great group-I sometimes find myself spending more time here than I do sewing! LOL Welcome to the addiction!

Just love every minute with that baby! The time will
pass too quickly!! If you have the room to have a
little sewing corner you can sew for 10 minutes at a
time and it will surprise you how much you can accomplish! I've heard of ladies that get up in the
wee hours and sew a little every day! But enjoy the
baby first and foremost!!

Welcome, Peach, and kudos on having a baby, working full time, and still having the motivation to scrape a few hours of sewing here and there.
