Hi, I registered back in Oct. but never introduced myself. I live in Central Texas, and I'm a SAHM right now(I'm an EMT/Dispatcher) to our 3 kids 11 y/o daughter 10 y/o daughter and 4 y/o son. I have been sewing since Jr High. Mostly self taught with some help from my mom. I am currently teaching my daughters how to sew. Resa |

HI Resa and welcome! Good for you for teaching your children how to sew! I made all 3 of mine learn - 2 boys and a girl-and you would be surprised at how often my boys sew up something-neither of their wives sew altho one dil is being "shamed" into learning. LOL She's made quite a bit of progress actually. None of them sew as much as I do but at least they can if they have to. My 8 yr old grandson is learning to quilt-slowly as we don't have a lot of time to devote to it-but he's still learning. Glad you can join us! Lyn

Hi Resa, Welcome to the group. Your girls hopefully love learning to sew. My DD learned and talks about it often. She just has been too busy with other things to make time to sew. However, this year when she goes to college, she plans to take one of her sewing machines with her. Hopefully, that will inspire her. Happy Stitching! Marty |

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Lyn - it will be a long while before I even think about attempting to teach my son how to sew. He makes Denis the Menace look good. |
