I'm new here. I ran across this board somehow, but its great. All kinds of new tips. I've been sewing for less than a year since I picked up an all-metal (heavy) Kenmore sewing machine at a garage sale. I'd seen a dress on the internet that I thought was absolutely gorgeous but was unwilling to pay 2000 dollars for it. I decided to learn to sew and make it myself by combining some various patterns. (I was told by a decent seamstress that the dress I liked is challenging, but I didn't listen) I'm learning and it is exciting. Now I scavange garage sales looking for fabric and have run out of places to put it! My dream dress is actually sold as a wedding dress, but instead I'll make it into a ballgown with a green brocade (that is unless I find a fiancee  ). Maybe I'll be asking for some help on my little project. There are so many talented people here.Nice to meet you all. |
