Hello all.
So I'm new to this and still finding my way. I have searched the web for weeks trying to figure out what is the best thread for my project. I would like a low to no lent sturdy thread. Some sites say rayon some say embroidery. Help!!! Any information helpful. Thanks for taking your time.

Without knowing what project you are sewing, it is hard to advise you on the type of thread to use. Please give a little more information if possible. For dressmaking and general sewing, I use a polyester metrosene (sp?) thread. For quilting, I use cotton thread and for embroidery designs I use rayon. I use bobbinfil thread in my bobbin for embroidery projects. There are lots of thread weights, types, plies, etc that come into play when sewing. A good website with excellent information is www.superiorthreads.com. I found this site to be helpful.

For serging, Maxi lock is considered to be one of the best, at least by all the dealers I've spoken to.

I, on the other hand like Isacord poly for embroidery best. It has very little lint, a very nice long fiber for strength, and a good shine. I understand that their new Isalon (still a poly thread) is even better. Their threads are Mettler for sewing and it so happens that where the thread colors match, they use the same color numbers between these two brands. They are made in Bavaria.
