Good morning everyone and welcome to the weekly round up of topics, sewing tips and general sewing chatter.

It has been a long week for me for some reason. I seem to be running out of steam so I will try to make this newsletter short and snappy for everyone.

SEWING TIPS:
Have you noticed there are embroidered fabrics everywhere lately. In the fabric shops, they have a big price tag. Why not make your own. Machine embroidery can be used to make your own unique fabric. If this sounds like too big a job, take one quarter yard and stitch an allover design. Use this for accent pieces such as collar, cuffs, pockets or perhaps a nice insert.

While I have not tried this tip, I have heard it works very well. If you don't have an invisible zipper foot, try using a pintuck foot. The grooves will keep your zipper in place and you can sew very close to the zipper teeth.

Give yourself 10 - 15 minutes each day in the sewing room. Maybe just long enough to decide on a pattern or fill a bobbin. Each step will inch you closer to actual sewing time. You should be the only one to decide how to spend your very precious free time.

WHAT I'VE LEARNED ABOUT SEWING:
As many of you must know, we had a challenge on the site. People could post what they had sewn in the last six months and what they had learned from that. It was so interesting to read what had been sewn up and the lessons learned. One poster is going to win a $50.00 gift pak of Eco friendly fabrics from our sponsor.

Next week I will set up a forum dedicated just to this newsletter. It will be a lot easier for everyone to find. I should have done it this week but I just ran out of time. As usual, you can leave your comments and suggestions concerning the site or this newsletter. Until next week, stay well, have some fun and happy sewing to you all.

Oh My Gosh!! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am so excited! This is so great for several reasons:
I'm learning about different fabrics, and actually touching the fabric while learning about it makes all the difference in the world (OK, I"m a tactile visual learner). Also I have allergy problems, so I'm guessing that Eco friendly fabrics won't be an issue; this is something that I probably would not be able to afford; and lastly, I'm trying to have as much of an organic yard and garden as possible (fire ants would be the exception here).

THANK YOU, MARY!!!!
