I made this dress and veil almost a year ago but this being the month of brides and weddings I thought I'd share.

The groomer I sew for was having a doggy fashion show and requested a bridal dress for a Bishon to model. This is what I came up with. I had a summer dress pattern for a dog dress and went from there. It was fun to make and easier than I thought it would be.

I'm not an advocate of dressing up dogs but hey, if someone wants to pay me, I'll make a wedding dress for a zebra! :bluewink:

(The yellow at the neck was a tag that I'd sewn in but later removed when I saw that it showed through.)

If you click on the lower right corner you can see the pearls and details of the lace.

Lennie, those are so cute! My kids got a kick out of them, and really liked your comment on sewing a dress for a zebra. That leaves a fun visual for them to think about :bg:

Thanks, everyone! And I'm so happy to provide a chuckle, Theresa.

Actually a zebra wedding party would be very formal with the bride in white and the groom in black....:bg: Or a penguin, or a skunk, or a panda, etc. etc.

The officiator would be an emperor penguin - ushers could be the skunks ( no one would argue where they sat) The organist could be an okapi - they never follow convention. Hmm bouncers at the reception would be the Pandas (in cse thigs got out of hand with the Ring Tailed Lemurs in the band) Wedding crashed by - a siberian tiger (Where did you get those stripes dahling, so you!)

Have you got any pictures of the dog IN the dress Lennie?

Actually she was although the veil slipped a few times. The show was last September and no, sorry to say, I didn't get a photo.

Did everyone notice the embroidered bone in the first pic? That's the trademark the groomer and I came up with for the items I sew for her shop.

Dorothy, I do have an excuse. The show was at dusk, outside, it was a little foggy and combined with the artificial lighting it was not at all condusive to any type of acceptable photo.

Hey, at least I snapped a photo of the outfit! Give me some credit.....

When I first started looking at the pics I hadn't read the thread yet, so I'm looking at this dress, thinking, my it's short, then I noticed the bone. How cute!! Looks like a lovely job Lennie! And I'm with Dorothy, I wanted to see the bride in the dress too.
