Overwhelmingly, lumps in breasts are benign - nothing to worry about. Knowing this doesn't stop us from worrying though. I've had just such a lump removed because they couldn't tell for sure what it was. Finding it and speaking up straight away are exactly the right thing to do.

Thinking of you and her and hoping that all is well. Let us know.

My mom found one about 3 months ago and it turned out to be benign.
The important thing is for your daughter to have it checked by her doctor.
Sending good thoughts your way and reminding everyone else to go have their yearly mammograms. Mine is coming up next month.

Ladies, I am by profession a sonographer. I only mention this because that gives me a little knowledge in the area of mamograms since breast ultrasounds are often used to correlate with mammograms. Do you ladies know that in the USA, (at least in Alabama) you can go to a mamography clinic and get a mammogram without a perscription from your physician. Just call and make an appointment. If you have a definite lump you might even get worked in early. They will send your physician a copy of the radiologists report. They will also notify you of the results.
Vickki, May God bless Your daughter with a good report.

Vikki, keeping your daughter and you in my thoughts and prayers. I hope this turns out ok.

Grandma C, I did not know that, it's a good thing to know and pass on to others who put off having their mammograms because they don't want to deal with the dr.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your daughter!! I come from a family of breast cancer, so I started the mammograms before I turned 40, and I do BSE often. The last mammogram they found a 'thickening' so now I am getting them every 6 months. You're right, its darn scary, but getting checked out immediately is the best thing, and dealing with it. We have free mammogram clinics here, which is wonderful. Most likely it will be nothing, and I pray that's exactly what it is!

So happy to hear that! Pays to keep on top of things. Some women are so afraid when they find a lump that they put off going for fear of what they may find out.

Wonderful news for all of you!
