I've been offered an "antique" sewing machine to buy. It is black and comes in a dark green case. It is a phoenix celerta zz. I have no idea of it's true age, functionality etc. I've been told that I can put the value on it - the owner only had it because it was "nice to look at". I've never seen it but was offered it by email. I'm probably not interested but I am curious. Does anybody know anything about them. When I googled it everything came up in German which wasn't a lot of help to me. Pauline

Sorry, I don't know anything about this machine but I did a google search also after you mentioned that your results were in German. They have some listed on ebay (http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://kunst.search.ebay.de/phoenix_Naehmaschinen_W0QQlopgZ9QQsacatZ19359&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=6&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dphoenix%2Bcelerta%2Bzz%26hl%3Den%26sa %3DG), I just pushed translate page. Maybe this can be a start for you. Of course the other pages that offer translating won't open. |

Thanks Tara - for whatever reason I didn't have access to the translation from here in Australia. It didn't really answer any questions but it did provide a lot of amusement at the translation provided. It's worth a look for anyone with a few minutes to while away.

Did you check the "Relics" site on line for any info on Phoenix machines? |
