Hi everyone, This is my first time posting. I've been a lurker for a while. I love everything about quilting especially reading about it and dreaming about the ones I'd like to make. However I haven't done much sewing in months. I've been going through a rough patch in my life and can't seem to get motivated to sew. I'm hoping that by getting involved here I might find the spark I need to get me going. I love reading about what you guys are doing and have learned so much from you. Maggie |

Hi Maggie and welcome. Maybe you just need to plan a couple of really small projects to get you started off again. The instant gratification thing often works for me. Or, being a quilter - go to the fabric shop and start playing with fabric combinations. Last but not least - why not just sit at the machine and practice/learn a skill you've hankered after. Have you got any UFOs at the moment? Pauline

Hi Maggie, welcome to the group. I'm not a quilter but maybe you can re-kindle your sewing spark with a table topper. Quilting and sewing in general are very addictive. Happy Stitching! Marty |

Hi and thanks to everyone for their warm welcome. Well it looks like my sewing slump is going to last for another while. I ended up in surgery this month and won't be able to do much for 8 weeks. But I'm still able to read all about what others are doing so I'll have to get my fix that way. Hi Viccki, it looks like I'm in your neck of the woods. Maggie |

Oh Maggie2, hope that you are doing okay from your surgery. I'm reading more than actually sewing. In fact, I haven't made anything in over 8 months although I have done some hand embroidery. I did motivate myself with buying some vintage sewing books. Now, I'm itching to get sewing again. Reading sewing books and working on hand embroidery is how I sew when I can't use my machines. Happy Stitching! Marty |

Welcome, Maggie, I think sewing is the perfect remedy for any slump! Hope you heal very quickly and get your machine humming. Lennie |
