I was gently nudged into quilting by my husband's co-worker, who started me with the block of the month that our local quilt shop is doing, Let's Go Dotty. Anybody else doing this sampler? It was a little hard for me, but this lady helped me by loaning me her finished blocks and advising me. She has been great! My last block looks pretty good. Today, I will finish my first quilting class, where we are making a 5 and dime lap quilt. It's not my favorite design, but I have learn a lot of the quilting techniques and tips. I'm also working on a Carpenter's Star quilt for my dad. It looks really nice so far. I had always had wanted to quilt, and now I'm doing it. I'm having lots of fun. I just wish I could spend more time doing it, and that my little Elna would cooperate more with the quilting. I will post more in the quilting forum for help. I'm glad to be here! Emi |
