Hi everyone!

Sorry I haven't posted much in the last couple weeks -- after I took my big exam June 8 I had a week off, and then started a rotation in the hospital. The hours were very long -- I would get up at 5am to get to the hospital by 6:30, and most days I wouldn't get home until after 5pm. We were on call once a week, which meant I had to stay even later. I was supposed to stay until 11, but my team let me go home at 9 or 10.

Anyway, I'm done with that for now, and aside from a ton of family commitments, I'm free as a bird! :bg: I hope to be doing lots of sewing. I had good intentions of making myself a new dress for our 1 year anniversary on Sunday...maybe if I get a bee in my butt about it this afternoon I'll do it. :bluesmile (This (http://www.mccallpattern.com/item/M5039.htm?tab=dresses&page=2) is the pattern) Well, I hope everyone's having a great summer! I'm looking forward to catching up on what I've missed.

Well lady, I wondered where you were hiding. Cute dress, that should make up in no time.

Definitely a cute dress! I, too, would love to see a pic when it's done.

Thanks everyone! I'm in the middle of an onslaught of family commitments, so I guess I might not have as much time for sewing as I thought... I got some fabric for the dress, but didn't have time to make it for our anniversary today (well, technically yesterday since it's so late!). It's just as well -- we were planning on taking a picnic to the park where we were married, but today the high was 95 and it was already uncomfortably hot at 8am this morning. We decided to postpone. We did have a nice indoor picnic, though.

Nellie (the new dog) is doing really well -- she's such a sweetheart and so good in the house, on walks, etc. She has a little issue with separation anxiety, which is hard to believe since she only just met us..but we're working on it. She's also getting better in the car, and I think that will continue to improve.

I won't get my scores back from the test until after July 18, since apparently they got pretty bogged down with test takers between May and June. I just want to know if I passed! If I did, then I'm done worrying about med school stuff for a few years and ready to start my PhD. I've found a potential advisor for my PhD and just need to work out a few details before I start working with him later this summer.

Well, I hope everyone's staying cool!

I'm staying cool enough that I'm envying your summer heatwaves. We're just never happy are we? But what ever happened to some nice in between weather.

Glad to hear that Nellie is settling in well.
