Hi I work on alterations for a small group of people. In the last few years I have noticed many strapless dresses coming through with an almost transparent tape sewn in at the bustline to help keep the dresses in their correct position. I found the name for it, "silicone gripper tape", in an article about making swimsuits and I am sure the tape would be excellent in them also. When I try to search for the tape on the web I end up at industrial sites and the tapes they have are no where near what I want. Does anyone know of another name for this tape or where I can locate some? Thanks. |

Sorry, there are no matches for search term "silicone gripper tape". You may: – Call Jo-Ann Stores' Product Research Dept. at 888-739-4120. Please have the SKU # or UPS bar code number, a full description of the product, and the manufacturer's name (if available). Hi, This is what I got when I did a search in Jo-Ann's website. I'd call that number. They might be able to help. Can't lose. Lennie |

I saw in a Clotilde Notions Catalog a product that is for use on humans that keeps clothing where it should be.. Is that what you are talking about ??? I don't remember the name, but check her notions catalog.. She is online as well as in hard copy.. I love ordering from there..

I am probably way wrong here, but is it similar to the invisible elastic?? I find that can be kind of sticky against the skin, and helps hold things a little bit.
Cheers, Soph.

I had some thigh high nylons/stockings that had those silicone bands on the inner thigh to hold them up. I think clear elastic would be of similar use. It sure can leave a skin irritation if worn too many hours. I don't know where to find any but would be interested in the product for myself. |

After I finish reading the boards, I will see if I can find that stuff on Clotilde's... It is NOT that clear elastic.. It is a special material made to hold clothing in place on your skin.. I think it was advertised as being able to keep your bra straps in place without peeking out on your shoulders..I'll try to find it..
