I have to have a mammogram, bone scan and complete physical Wednesday and Thursday this week! I thought because I had just gone through surgery my primary care physician would let me slide on my yearly physical this year -- NOT!!! His nurse called and left a message yesterday morning that he wanted me to schedule my yearly physical or he could not refill my blood pressure, and cholesterol and Aciphex prescriptions again. YUUUUKKKKK! I hate having all that done again. Patsy Patsy

Patsy...I know what you mean...but it's better to have a physician who cares & looks after his patients...than one that lets things slide and something happens down the road. And with those meds...you don't want to fool around. Good luck with the checkup!

I do have a good primary care doc Judy but man, I just had all that done to me 2-1/2 weeks ago in pre-op for my back surgery. I think I'm gonna spring leaks from all the needlework I have done on me lately! Patsy Patsy

Better safe than sorry but I know how you feel. I had a complete exam with all sorts of kidney, bowel, etc. testing done. All was fine. A month later my doctor wanted me to do one of the tests again. The test takes a total of 10 days then another week before results are known. I didn't enjoy the tests and said NO emphatically. He had forgotten I did them the first time.

Patsy, it sounds like you have a good doctor - you are so lucky! Grit your teeth and get it done, then reward yourself with a fabric store trip! Mary, that is a pretty significant thing to miss. I'd question why the doc missed that test. Was it not documented properly? Theresa

He didn't miss it. He wasn't thinking. As soon as I reminded him he blushed.

Okay I did my yearly mammogram and my bone scan this morning. There's nothing to the bone scan, you just lay there and the machine does all the work. As for the mammogram, I had to remind the young lady that I have had a bust reduction done and that my tissues are still very sensitive and don't take well to being mashed and bruised. She was very gentle and did it as quickly as possible. Now on to the physical, blood work, etc. tomorrow morning. Nothing to eat or drink after midnight except some water in the morning to take my usual meds. I always dread these 2 days but am glad when I get it all done. I still have a dental appointment in August for a filling. Oh joy!!! Patsy Patsy
