The placket itself is doubled. It is in two pieces. The garment itself is squared at the bottom. You reinforce the corners of the shirt (blouse) and then the placket, which is just a long doubled strip, is sewn down on both sides. When you get to the bottom, you fold the garment at the bottom of the placket, and sew across the bottom, catching the top and bottom placket as you sew across. Measuring the width of the placket so that it exactly fits the opening and you don't have pleats or a gap with the lower portion of the placket showing is critical.
