Body of dress is lined, but sleeves just the lace. I'd like to re-enforce the sleeves with another layer of a backing material. Am having nightmares that I pick up my arms to dance with someone and my elbows rip it open. LOL Am looking for something thin and sheer and as strong as possible. Would appreciate suggestions. Thanks Beth |

silk or polyester organza comes in a zillion colors, very thin, see-through, and should stabilize things nicely under your pretty lace without stealing the show.

You might also want to use a roll of Steam-A-Seam to reinforce the sleeves. It comes in several seam widths. Marty |

I was thinking Twinkle organza and it would lend a little body to the sleeves too although I've even seen fabrics that were opaque under sleeves like that.

Yup - I with the organza vote. Use it as an underlining and french seam as much as possible. I have used organza for a sleeve and lace for the lower part of the sleeve and it worked well.

Yay, I found some, we'll see what it looks like when it gets here. Thanks! Beth |
