Ever since I moved my sewing studio to my mom's - and sew there often - my mother has taken up the craft more. Yesterday she finished some underwear for my son. Cute? You decide:

Boxers, Part Two
You can turn any little piece of fabric into high-quality underwear for a boy. Yes, that's a real front placket (sewn shut, though). Yes, these are five-paneled boxers with the cute butt panel.

The Timberlane Press "First Choice" boxer pattern meets the definition of a great sewing pattern - replete with well-described techniques, tips, and thorough diagrams. Even a beginning stitcher would enjoy these. They have an adult version that is my husband's favorite-ever boxer.

Boxers, Part One
Nels loves them. Natch.

Very cute! That's great that you're inspiring you mom to sew more. One of my first few projects was boxers for DH -- maybe I should make him a couple more before he gets back from his business trip. Of course I need him to be here physically to put in the elastic.. I'm just contemplating the goofy fabrics I could make them out of. :bg:

Cute boxers and model. Sewing is contagious as my DS recently asked for a sewing machine. She is in her early 50's and has never mentioned sewing before I sent her some embroidered (by me) T-shirts. Now, she wants to learn to sew. Up until now, only my mom and I sewed.

Those are cute little boxers! I've used that pattern and I struggled with the elastic somewhat awful. I loved the finished look though. Did you move all of your sewing stuff to your moms? Does she live close to you?
