I have just purchased Brother PE Design software. Does anyone know of a book that offers step by step instructions for "dummies"? I find the instruction manual totally inadequate for a beginner. Also when trying to import a .pes design to layout & editing, I keep getting the message "unexpected file format". What's up with that? I love using my new Brother PR-600 and thought I could learn to make my own designs, but feel I may be over my head! It looked so easy when the clerk in the store demonstrated it! :bang: Help!

Have you checked to see if your Brother dealer offers classes on using the PE Design software? The one in our area does for a nominal fee. You could also call the Brother educator and ask them to "talk" you thru it. Hope these suggestions help.

Thanks Marty! I was hoping to avoid paying for lessons; however, I had not thought about calling Brother directly. I'll try that first. Appreciate your help!

Google Carol Price and Loes van der Heijden
Both have pretty good books.

Thank you so much Weezy! I checked Carol Price's website and she seems to have just what I'm looking for in a tutorial! I like something I can have in hand to refer back to when needed. This is great!!! This is a wonderful website. I have already learned alot just by reading others questions. You have been a great help!:bg:

That's my Snowshoe - (cross between Siamese and American Shorthair). Daughter calls her the "Smirky Turkey" Her name is Alpha Orionis
I also have 3 cats, but not with the age spread of yours!
It does take patience to have 3 cats, but then, we have a zoo. Anywhere from 3 - 5 ferrets, 3 cockatiels, and 3 gerbils. I share the sewing room with the ferrets, who are caged. One of them really loves the empty sewing spools.
