I want to make this pattern New Look 6676 but I want a fuller skirt, this is pretty much an a-line. I don't want it too much fuller, but more than what it calls for on the pattern. So, do I find a fuller skirt from a different dress and replace it or how do I go about getting the skirt fuller. I really don't want to go with a gored skirt, as the fabric is quite patterned and I think it would look yucky gored.

Split up from the bottom of the skirt, split to the waistline and pivot. Straighten the hemline. You will need to pay attention to the grainline. Moving the grainline would effect the draping of the skirt.

You may want to consider cutting up to the waist (or hips, depending on where you want the fullness to start)in a few places, distributing the new fullness more evenly.

Looks like the skirt is cut on the bias. You could draw the extra fullness on each side if this is true. Be sure to keep the hem even.

Well, that sounds easy enough! The skirt isn't cut on the bias in the pattern, it is on the grainline. I think I'll use an old sheet and play around with the pattern. I did try the pattern as is on some fabric I picked up that was really cheap so if I didn't like the dress, it's not a big deal. I think I'm finally out of my slump, I just need some time to get sewing!
