I am working on a queen sized preprinted whole cloth quilt I asked for for Xmas from DH. I am enjoying it very much and just wonder if anyone out there has also worked on one. If so, after you finished, would you tackle another one? My DH asked me that last night and I told him it was a possibility,
but I am so far from being finished I will let him know. I am keeping a kind of journal to keep up with how many hours it is taking. I have already logged over 25:whacky: hours and have just finished the center medallion. Just wondering?

I have never done a whole cloth quilt but I am making a king sized quilt for my son's wedding. I kept a log of my time spent on the hand quilting only. When I got to around 20 hours and saw how far I had only come, I threw the tally paper in the trash can. I don't really want to know how much time I have invested in it. I just know that it turned out beautifully and there is a lot of love stitched into it.

Well Joanie, I think it's very nice that he's taking initiative in August to investigate about Christmas presents again! It must take forever to complete one. ...This afternoon I toured an historic site and saw a colonial period dress with a wholecloth quilted skirt. I'd never seen one before, and it was just beautiful in simple muslin with such ornate and dense hand quilting. I thought it would take me a lifetime to complete a dress like that!

Andrea:
I know it will take me an eternity to complete this quilt, as I haven't set myself any time limit. I work on it as I can and it may be days or a week between times when I work on it. A lady in my quilt guild told me it took her 5 years to finish the one she did. So I expect is will take me at least that long. It is a very intricate pattern. I consider these an heirloom piece to be handed down from generation to generation.

Well, maybe by the time you get it done, SWN will be back in gear after a nice hiatus, and then you can show it to us. It must be a really special project.
