I was looking at my sewing area with dispair, as it was too much of a mess to clean up! I had no place to put anything, and the piles where collapsing. So I did what I shouldda done a long time ago...
*Hemmed the 2 inches of sleeve on a t-shirt that had come undone.
*Finished the neckline of a t-shirt I had taken the neck binding off, and took in the sleeves and the sides a tad.
*Serged an otherwise good towel that had lost one end.
*Put seam binding on a pair of shorts that I had taken the hem out of to lengthen, then finished the hem.
*Put a pretty little flouncy edge on a pair of dd's shorts that were too short.

OK, so the piles are still collapsing on themselves, but I have 5 less items out there in the mess, and I feel much better:up:

I alwasys dread alterations, but I feel so good right now that I have transformed 3 XL knit shirts down to my small size 16 shirt now.. Of course I have about a half dozen more to go.. But I couldn't afford to go out and buy more new clothes after giving away all the way too big ones.. Its a good feeling anyway.. Now as a reward, I can make another new one.(from my stash) That is how I have to bribe myself into doing alterations..

Well done Theresa. You became my inspiration last night to get a few of mine done. I know I had been busy in the last month, but I felt a bit flat when I saw that I had not achieved one single thing on my sewing list in 4 weeks. But I have now.
Cheers, Soph.

Way to go!! Which reminds me, I have a pair of capris that I was taking in, but quit working on them after getting the waistband off.... if I get to it, I can still get some wear out of them this year. Dontcha just love getting UFO's out of the way???

I have two shirts hanging behind me that are just plain worn out and I don't even have the initiative to take the buttons off.

Strange to think that someone could actually have a successful business taking in other's UFO's. It might actually fly. :bg:
