How are all of you in the US that are dealing with these high temps? It's been over 100 F here for several days. The heat index today is 112. The humidity is awful. It was already 83 F at 5:00 am this morning. And school started back this week. :whacky: It's been awful. The poor kids came in today with little red, wet faces. The buses are stifling. It's unreal that kids have to start back to school here in the south when it's still this hot.
I worry about my 15yo dog too. I put her in the basement this morning. She's usually outside all the time. She was ready to go outside when I got home, but I think she'll be back at the door soon. :bluewink:
All of my flowers outside are drying up. I've been watering twice a day and they are still dry in a couple of hours.
I love summer but I'm really looking forward to cooler weather now.

We had 102 temps yesterday with a 122 heat index. The humidity is unbelieveable. Today it was only:shock: 101. Heat advisories have been issued both days and air quality is very poor. We did have strong storms pass thru a few hours ago so now it is in the mid 90s. Supposed to be back in the triple digits again tomorrow. I do hope the weekend brings some cooler air. Hope everyone is staying cool.

Trust me if I could send this heat/humidity your way I would. I don't like temps much over 75. I'm a transplanted northern gal myself.

I like it around 90 F, but it's too hot for even me now.

It's about 92 here but the nights go down to 60 or so. Really nice for keeping the house cool during the day. Horrible humidity (for us anyway) during the last couple of weeks. We're so dry usually, around 24%, and we were up to 60 and 65%. That's really tough when you're not used to it at all.

At 2:30 p.m. this afternoon it was 102 degrees on our patio. Wasn't outside all day until after 7:00 p.m. this evening as I woke up this morning being very lightheaded (more so than ususal) and couldn't walk for a few minutes when I stood up to go to the bathroom. Then it turned into a raging headache and I slept more of the day with the aid of Lortab. I think it is the heat beginning to get to me again this year.

It's just summer here. Hot -- but it is supposed to be.

We've got heat and humidity too... I've noticed that the pollen warnings are rated *severe*, so folks with allergies have it double bad... I simply cant fathom being COLD in August..

It is in the 100's here with heat advisories and our main a/c unit went out on last Thursday. It will be Tuesday before the repairman can come. Our bedroom a/c is working but is throwing the circuit breakers every hour or so. Of course, this was the week that I've had errands almost every day. I've just worn minimal clothing and stayed in the bedroom. Just keeping as cool as possible.

I feel for you Marty. One of the a/c units at my job went out the day we went back to work last week. Of course it's the one over the kitchen. :bang: Every day we hear that it'll be repaired soon. :nervous: They're waiting for a part.
At least if our a/c at home was to go out, we'd have the basement to go to. It's always nice and cool there.

Our swimming pool temp is just right now. I've been swimming almost every evening.

My daughter, in the Oklahoma State Marching Band started practice outside today with the temps scheduled to go to 104 most of the week and horrible humidity. DGD started Kindergarten this afternoon...that means waiting in the car 30 min each afternoon in the heat! YUCK!!!
