October 2001, is when I joined this site.
I hate seeing it go. It has been a GREAT HOME to visit and learn many new things.

Thanks Mary:bluesad:

I first joined Nov 2001. You have helped me through some bad times & celebrated good times with me. When I joined I was not looking forward to our first holiday season without my Mom & I don't think I would have made it through my Dad's illness & death without SWN as my stress relief. Also the stresses of being a Mother of teenagers (OH yeah that isn't over yet). I have had a lot of deaths in My family over the last few years & you have been thee for me.

You have also shared in my joys like DD's wedding & the birth of my DGDDs. I look forward to sharing more on SWU

I joined SWN in March of 2000. It's been such a big part of my life since then that my kids know exactly who I'm talking about when I mention some of you ladies. :bg: (Oh, that's my mom's friend from SWN :dave: ) I've learned many things from all of you and have had a blast with all the quilt block swaps, fabric swaps, games, contests, and challenges we've had here. I appreciate all of you listening when I needed to vent about something. It sure helped.
I am grateful to Mary for keeping these boards running for us all these years. I wish Mary the best of luck and look forward to continuing this with all of you (including Mary!) over at Sew Whats Up.
BTW, the little yellow kitty on my avatar is in honor of a cat I lost shortly after I joined these boards. I've thought of him each I see it, but I've decided to retire him now.

In a perfect world you would all live in my town and we would all get together for coffee, chatting, support, laughter, tears and sewing. We'd be a really close group of friends. Mary created an almost perfect world for us, and although there are a few of you close to my town, we have had a place where we can meet for coffee, chatting, support, laughter, tears oh and sewing!! I'm going to miss this place, but I believe our new home will be just as wonderful. Thanks Mary for some wonderful memories, some super friends, and great companionship.

I think I joined in 2001 or 2002, can't remember that far back but I know it's been a long time and it's one of the very few boards that I've kept going back to and really and truly the only one that I've felt is "home" in cyber space. This is where I learned to quilt and the addiction has only grown and grown until it really is a monster in my sewing room now. Thanks Mary for giving me the opportunity to make a lot of great friends and get to know people from literally all around the world. Hopefully we'll continue where we leave off here in our new cyber space "home".

Well, I guess I'm the new kid. I didn't join until 2002.
Isn't it funny how you can make such close friends without ever meeting face to face. It is so cool having friends all over the world.
Mary you done a good thing here.
Now, guys, we are still together so please -- stop making me sad with all this sentimental stuff!!

I'm a real newbie as I only joined at the start of this year after months of lurking and have been very happy here. As Laura said about everyone here living in her town, I regard this place a wonderful community and I think I've mentioned that before. Although I don't post very often, I always checked this place every day and have been so impressed by the caring everyone showed one another, hopefully everyone will be together over at SWU and the community will continue on. Mary, I hope to see you over there too, please move with us.
Regards, Bruna

Hi Freinds, I joined sometime early in the year maybe in March. I have so enjoyed the feeling of freindship I have received here. Mary, thanks for giving me a place to meet with other sewist. Yes, I agree, you have done a good thing here. May God bless your new endeavors. May He keep you safe and content!
Mary, Untill I found SWN I had never dremt of being and alterations specialist but this week I just hemmed the sleeves on five lab coats for a doctor. I also altered a silk blouse and took out and replaced an invisible side seam zipper in it. This group has given me a vision for a retirement career that will help supplement my income.
See you at SWU

I think I joined in Aug of 2002 as SuzyQ and then had to register in Dec. as motherinlaw. I think I'm not sure. Anyway I've been here a long time and am going to miss the set up but as Mary said we are just relocating around the block and everyone is coming with us.
I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.
