You have to have the web address or url for the picture then you click the img button when creating your message and insert the url in the pop up box.

I actually moderate a support forum on boards a lot like thes so I am SEW happy to see this stuff here.

The one I like the most is finding out someone replied to my post. I use to forget where I posted and then find out a week later that someone replied to something I wrote. I love the new boards.

Where are you from in Alabama Bama? Northern part or southern part? We are not too far from one another considering some are from Australia, England and Canada. I see one or two of us are from the south, Houston area, New Orleans area, Florida. I love seeing where everyone is from. I wish I could hear their accents. Susie:monkey:

The graphic that I posted above is actually on my website. The hardest about inserting graphics is that they have to be on a website first. Then you just click the img button and put in the web address.

Susie,
I'm sorry, I just saw your post. :whacky:
I live north of Birmingham, AL.
We are pretty close.:bluesmile My hubby is from Louisiana. I've heard him talk about Slidell and Chalmette. He spent most of his younger years in Saint Bernard Parish and then in Plaquemine.
I love to visit Louisiana with him. (crawfish, mmmmmm....)
Love the accents.:bluewink:
His brother from New Iberia is here visiting now.

when you are making your post, just above the box you enter your text in there are buttons, B,I,U, are bold, italacise and underline, below that are http:// @ and IMG. Http:// is to insert a link so you can make it look like this go here!! (http://www.sew-whats-new.com) instead of this http://www.sew-whats-new.com
the @ is for an email address and the img is for images, it will automatically put the code around the address of your picture.
every picture has an address, if you right click it and select properties you can find most of them,

http://www.sew-whats-new.com/vb/images/smilies/birthday.gif

this is what you should see in properties, if you right click the birthday smilie. Now as far as I know, every internet service provider not only gives you access to the internet but also space to host stuff, like pics, personal pages and such. If you load your picture into your space you will be able to share it with everyone here.

now thats stupid, in that url is has instead of the word images, ima...es as though my link is too long. you get the idea, and the link works. lemme know if you have any more questions about the process, I'm sure sharing your projects is something you want to do.

Oh I can't hide that from you Mary, you know if I am from Southern Louisiana I have one heck of an accent. I speak like these Cajuns down here Cher. After all I live near Nu Awlins, Luweezeana. Where we berl Crayfish, aka mud bugs and make groceries, and when we meet you in the street somewhere the first thing we ask if we haven't seen you in a while is, "How's ya Mama." Oh I'm a true Cajun alright. LOL Bama that's where I'm from St Bernard Parish. I was born and raised here and I live on the same property I did when I was growing up. Our family name is Dauterive, (maiden name). I thought at one time the family migrated here from up where Mary is from in Nova Scotia but now they tell me the Dauterive's came from France and helped the Arcadians migrate from there to St Martinville Louisiana from there.

:monkey: Now that ya'll have me figured out now tell me about your accents and don't be shy. :bg:

Last week I was invited over for supper, I asked dad if I could bring anything (I was hoping main course :bg:) dad only suggested a fire extinguisher.

Don't forget mom, there are enough digital camera's floating around, I could also post some pictures of the damage done around your stove.

All of my in-laws introduced me to "berled" crawfish and shrimp. And they all "make" groceries. One SIL in particular makes great gumbo, crawfish bisque, jambalaya, etc. etc. She gets to do the cooking whenever they come to visit. :bg:

Hubby told his brother that's here that we would be going to their house when school is out. Can't wait to stop and get a shrimp po'boy. :nah:

by the way, ever been to the Cypress Festival?

Oh you are making me hungry. I have been known to make a good gumbo myself. I put everything in it, oysters, crab, crayfish, shrimp, italian sausage, smoked sausage, boudin, tasso, pork sausage, chicken, and if I have it duck. Oh yeah~!!!!!! That be some good Cher. It's all in the Rue. Just like Justin Wilson would say. I lived away for a little over a year in Dallas and couldn't get seafood and Zatarains seasoning when I was there. I craved Binders French bread. Never move away again. LOL

Never been to the Cypress Festival but In April they have the Crayfish Festival, in May the Tomato Festival, the Oyster Festival, and Shrimp Festival and lots more, too many to mention. The Jazz Festival too. We stay pretty busy with the Festivals in the parish. Where is the Cypress Festival? We go to car shows we have a 1930 street rod and go to shows all over and some are at Festivals. I'll have to watch out for that one.

Oh by the way Mary. If you can get the seafood I can stock you up on some recipes for your site, if you like Cajun food.

Susie,
I can't remember what my BIL called the place where the Cypress Festival was, but we were visiting Plaquemine and drove about 25 minutes to get to the festival. Does that help any? It was the last week of March, two years ago.
We really enjoyed the music there. (And the FOOD!) :bluesmile
It had us listening to Beau Jaque (sp?) CDs all the way home. :bluewink:

I'll have to look it up and see Bama. They have Plaquemine, La and Plaquemine Parish. One is near us and the other is around Baton Rouge. I'll look it up and see which one.

Here is a place everyone can go to see what Mardi Gras is like in New Orleans. It's a live cam on Bourbon Street. It's raining down here so it's not as crowded as it would be if it was nice but you can get the picture of what it's like. Check back in on Tuesday March 4th and you will see some sites.

http://www.nola.com/bourbocam/classic/ Enjoy!!!!!:bg: :bg: :bg:

Susie, that's the one. Now I remember it was in Patterson. Hubby and his brother showed us so many places when we were there, it's hard to keep track of all the names. They lived in Patterson when they were kids.
Our kids kept begging to go on a "swamp tour" like they saw in the flyers at the rest stop.:bluewink: DH's brother in St. Martinville told them he could take them on an even better tour and took us out in his boat to see all the "camps" out in the Achafalaya (sp?:whacky: ) They still talk about it.

We're planning to go back there this summer.:bluesmile

Sorry It took so long to get back to you with that but I just found that when I was looking for one of the other festivals here. They do live in Cajun country. That's the heart of where it all started in St Martinville. That's where Bernard Dauterive one of the first settlers of La settled after coming from France. They have a church with all the history of the family in it's records. Seems that he donated the land to the church or something like that. Who knows we could be related way back if your hubby's family is from around there. Wouldn't that be something.

((hugs))

Dave,
when my beloved Grandmother would call me Mil-Sis-Ethel-Lib , she would then laugh and hug me and say, Its always the ones I had to fuss at that come out first, its not that I don't remember your name.. I believe ther is something to that, because of my 2 sons , I call the well behaved one by his brother's name a lot and I sure know the difference..
Bottom line, Take it as a compliment..:bg: :bg: :bg: :USA:
