Has anyone had any experience selling their small items online, either on other sites or their own?

What were your experiences, if any?

I am thinking along the lines of smaller wall hangings, pillows, gift type items.

Hi Mary,

I sell my things on my own site www.snostoppers.ca if you want to check it out.
We did the site ourself so it wasn't expensive and we pay around $14.00/mth to host.

Must say I have not had many sales on the site. People love to know you have a site but it seems like they do not want to purchase from it. I have not spent much time as I'm not completely up on what to do, but it is not linked to many other things or sites.

From what I hear you have to try to find banners and things on other sites to link to for your exposure to increase. I'm working on that now, linking to work at home sites, mom sites, etc.

While I don't make much money from the site I still plan on keeping it. Who knows if I find the good links it may grow!!

Your site is great, that is not the problem. You need some links to encourage traffic. Do you have things for the spring of the year?

This was my first year at this. With 2 young children I don't really have lots of extra time so I haven't expanded on my product line.

We are a military family on the move to Winnipeg in June so I imagine my spare time will be even shorter until next August.

I was thinking about expanding with flannel and polar fleece blankets but everyone is doing them.

I tried the craft show circuit but it did not go well. I'm not someone that enjoys sales. I like making and doing the business stuff but sales is definity not my cup of tea!!
