With all the bad news happening, I needed something to make me smile.:bluesmile I am now officially in my sewing room!!!
DH finally finished DS's new room( 10 months after moving into our house) but it was worth the wait. DS was using the room we intended for the sewing room for his bedroom. He's thrilled now too. He didn't really care for the butter yellow paint I put on the walls in there. He didn't realize he would have to look at it for so long when he agreed to sleep in there til his dad could finish his room.:bluewink:

I'm still trying to organize everything, but it's lots easier now with so much room. I've been sewing every evening now. It's soooo nice to be able to go in there and start where I left off. Since I had been sewing on the dining room table, I had always had to put away my machine and things before and then drag it all back out when I wanted to sew again.

By the way, our son's new room looks great too. It's in the basement so he has the largest room in the house now. DH put some rustic looking boards on the walls. DS has a collection of John Deere signs, old Coca Cola stuff, and other old and country things. I told him I would be happy to trade rooms with him now. He said no way.:bluewink:

Oh that's great Bama. I know when my DH converted our home office into a sewing room for me I was tickled pink. I have my own air conditioner so when I get my hot flashes I can cool down without everyone running for the blankets. I also added a small tv with cable so I can keep up with what's going on and also watch my favorite shows on TV land. And on Saturday mornings I get up and get my coffee and sit in there and watch my sewing shows from 9:00Am till 12:00 noon. It's so nice to have a place to sew a few minutes if you like and then go do something else and when you come back it's no hassle to start where you left off. I have things cut out and projects started now where as before I had to do one at a time and felt compelled to finish before starting on something else.

Hey Bren,

All my shows are on PBS. Quilt in a Day, America Sews, Quilting with Shar, Quilting from the heartland, Sewing with Nancy. I can't remember the rest. Some of them I don't watch if it's about something I'm not interested in that day. But I love my sewing room also. I go in there even if I'm not sewing anything and just look around in awe.
