Someone is advertising a used one for sale for what seems to be a good price. Does anyone here own one? I am especially interested in whether it has adjustable foot pressure, drop in bobbin and can handle a wide variety of fabric thicknesses. I read some online reviews, a couple of which didn't like the ball used to make selections, and the glare from the screen. How long have you had your machine and how much usage does it get? I need a workhorse that will hold up a long time and this machine's strengths appear to be its versatility for fancy things I rarely, if ever, do. Thanks for any feedback you can give.

Hi,I dont have the 1530 but the 1630.Its really my moms, but she went over seas for 2yr and let me use it while she was gone.I have to say I loved that sewing machine,It was the best and when she came home I had the hardest time giving it back.I liked the ball, not a problem for me and the glare you talked about I never noticed it.The only thing I didnt like was how heavy it was,you need to have a place to keep it set up all the time because you could break your back.I would have bought a nother 1630 but I really wanted the embrodiery also(the1630 does have some)I think you will really like the 1530 or look into the 1630 also.Hope this helped you.
