Hi everyone, I am asking for prayers and good wishes for my dh, who had 2 heart attacks on Wednesday night. He is in the hospital, having had a cardio cath and is now on blood thinners. This sure is a scary time.

Don't forget to take good care of yourself at this time. DH needs you to be in good health and good spirits (if possible) so he can concentrate on healing instead of worrying about you.

Debbie,
You and Hubby are in my prayers.. sending good thoughts your way also.. I have been there, so I know what you are feeling now.. Keep your self in good shape, so you can be there for him..Take a 5 or 10 minute walk, weather permitting, it does wonders, especially if you see plants, or flowers, or other evidences of spring returning, it just has to lift your spirits a little..You are in my thoughts.. we are here for you as Mary said..:bluesmile

I just want to thank each and everyone of you for your wonderful thoughts and prayers. You can't imagine how good it feels to read all the little notes of hope and prayers. Tears are streaming down my face, but I am smiling. Chuck is doing better today, they got most of the clot on Wednesday night and are trying to use blood thinners to see if they will help dissolve the rest of it. Otherwise they will do another angioplasty on Monday. Those of you that have had a loved one in the hospital know how hard it is sitting there for such long hours, it makes me feel bad , like I am complaining, but it is so draining........I just wanted to thank you ALL for being such wonderful friends during this hard time.:bluesmile

Debby,
I have a prescription for YOU.. take a little paperback book..or magazine..; some needlework (crochet, handstitching , or whatever); and a notepad , or a pack of cards with blank insides. These items don't take up much space.. Your attention span will be short.. read a few minutes, sew a few minutes, write a note to one friend or relative, make a shopping list, meditate quietly a few minutes.. You cannot help being restless in the hospital, but if you have several things to occupy your hands and mind, it will help ease your fatigue and lift your spirits at the same time..A friend of mine gave me a care package like this, and while it did not make me a happy camper, it did help ease some of that drained feeling ... (Readers Digest is a good magazine for this kind of thing.. (Has a little of everything to read about, and all the articles are short) I'm keeping y'all in my prayers..

Yes, Debbie, it is very scary. But like the others have said do something for yourself while you are taking care of hubby. It is amazing what walking out of the hospital for 5 min. and taking deep breathes will do for you.

Actually I took your advise today, took a pocket yahtzee game to play and finally took a miniature quilt and starte the hand quilting on it. It SURE made the day go faster. I think I may have even dozed while Chuck slept...lol. So far, so good, Doctor is still planning to do a catheterization on Tuesday, so we are just praying ALOT. Thanks so much for your prayers and good wishes.:bluesmile :bluesmile

I will also pray for you and your husband and hope he gets better soon.
My brother had a heart attack on Friday and is in the hospital now, sounds very much like your DH. He is the only brother I have, I have no sisters. I understand how you feel, I am so upset all the time, I can’t stop crying. But I always put on a brave face in front of him. It is a terribly hard time, to see your loved one ill, but I am praying very hard and hope that all the prayers from everyone will help us all. Take care.

Dear Debby, how is Chuck today? I hope he is better, I am thinking of you.
Debby, thank you very much for your support while you were going through the same awful time. My brother is better now and will be coming home in a few days. I am still praying for you and Chuck. This  is to keep you both safe.

Chuck is doing better now, he is on blood thinners and they put in an arterial stent to keep the artery open. He is still pretty tired and for that matter, so am I. We aren't planning a very busy Easter this year, just going to Church and coming home to relax. Thanks so much for asking.:bluesmile

Dear Debby, that’s great news! Chuck is better! It’s OK if you don’t want to do anything but rest, you deserve it. Take it easy for a few months, that’s the way to go. My brother came out of the hospital and tried to go for a long walk, he found out not to do it again in a hurry! And I told him not to be a silly bugger! It will take time to heel, but I am so happy that yours and mine are alive and kicking! They will get better with time, but right now they only need rest, and so do you. Take care, I am keeping you in my thoughts.
