well i have to say i have THE best 12 year old nephew in the world my hubby and i have no kids (not by choice) but we have a niece and nephew, my sisters (single mom) i was the first one to hold him when he was born (c-section) and we have had a special bond since. we have played a large role in their lives, but you wonder if they know it sometimes. WELL, today, my nephew came home from church( i had stayed home because it is not my favorite time to be there and i had dinner in the oven) and had a special thing for his mom that they handed out to the moms and then he gave me one as well, and then said with all innocence "you are just like a mom, kinda" and gave me a kiss. well this aunty had to keep it together as we were just minutes from having a houseful for dinner. i know there are many aunties and uncles out there in the same boat, and days like today are a real mix off emotions, my little nephew today just confirmed that every last moment is worth it. makes me want to cry all over again |

I have one and only niece, my brother’s daughter, who is closer to me than my own daughter in many ways (my brother and I had only a girl each). She is following in my footsteps, has my mannerisms, almost a copy of me and we love each other dearly. She is so caring and loving, it’s just wonderful! I know how you feel! |

Wow, Carman, he must think a lot of you. Compliments like that from most 12-year-old boys are few and far between. |
