I had an idea for a contest. I call it design your own. So you make your own pattern then sew it and post pictures and everybody votes.

Most of my designs are either from pattern software or by mixing and matching pattern pieces from different patterns or by modifying a simple pattern so it has a little more flair. I think all of these would count. So just as long as you don't take it from a pattern envelope and sew it exactly as instructed.

Just an idea.

Not sure if I'm up for something like this...I'm horrible at making something without a pattern...:nervous: And I don't have patten drafting software....:bluesad:

That sounds like a fun idea...

I think that using pattern software would give a person unfair advantage, though. :bluesmile

Are we talking about making a pattern from scratch, or taking an existing, plain pattern, and changing it from a 'design' point of view?
Take care,
Donna

I think taking an existing pattern and changing it would be good. Especially if it was maybe a simple bag, and we could all do the same one. It would be great to see how different they turned out!
