How to bathe the cat:

1] Thoroughly clean the toilet.
2] Add the required amount of shampoo to the toilet water and have both the seat and the lid lifted.
3] Obtain the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom.
4] In one smooth movement put the cat in the toilet and close the lid; you may need to stand on the lid so that he cannot escape. CAUTION: do not get any part of your body too close to the edge, as his paws will be reaching out for any purchase they can find.
5] Flush the toilet three or four times; this provides a power wash and rinse which i have found to be quite effective.
6] Have someone open the door to the outside and ensure that there are no people between the toilet and the outside door.
7] Stand behind the toilet as far as you can and quickly lift the lid. The now-clean cat will rocket out of the toilet and run outside where he will dry himself.

Sincerely, The Dog

Have you ever tried to bathe a cat! I have, No fun! We did it outside and I wore Motorcycling gloves in case she got mad. She had been scouring and was just relieved to get clean! The secong time was when one of my kits ( 4monthes) came in having investigated someones shed and covered in paint. I stood him in the sink and washed him down - do you know how skinny a cat gets when wet? he was not happy - I sat him on a towel in front of the gas fire to dry off in a room with wall to wall fabric ( I was making stick puppets) while his sister did the famous cat- wall-of-death around the room. Sooty was sitting on the towel swearing and looking like a cat that had just escaped drowing when the doorbell rang. It was the R.S.P.C.A. come to investigate a complaint that I had been throwing kittens out in the snow. Thankfully, they could see the funny side and I was not prosecuted for cruelty to animals. I suspect he anonymous phone call was the owner of the shed that Sooty had invaded!

I gave one of my cats a bath today. She's going in to be spayed tomorrow and I wanted to get rid of the fleas first.
About 3 minutes into the bath I thought "the dog's" instructions above would have been a better idea.:bluewink: I don't have any bleeding wounds, but she sure warned me.:nervous:
I hope I can catch her tomorrow morning. She's still not "speaking" to me and keeps giving me dirty looks over her shoulder.:bg:
