The following are different answers given by school-age children to the given question: (courtesy of TN Canada Sept. newsletter) 1) Why did God make mothers? -She's the one who knows where the scotch tape is. -To help us out of there when we were getting born. 2) Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom? - We're related. - God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's moms like me 3) What ingredients are mothers made of? - God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean. 4) What kind of little girl was your mom? - My mom has always been my mom and none of that other stuff. - I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy - They say she used to be nice. 5) What did mom need to know about dad before she married him? - She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer? Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores. 6) Why did your mom marry your dad? - My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my mom eats a lot - She got too old to do anything else with him. - My grandma says that mom didn't have her thinking cap on. 7) Who's the boss at your house? - Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goofball.. - Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed. ..gotta love 'em!!!! I've decided to live forever - so far, so good.

My daughter was discussing the war in Iraq the other night. She asked me if the war was historical. I told her one day it would be and that her children would study about it in school. She asked me if there had been a war in my lifetime and I said yes and that her grandfather had fought in it. She said "It was the Civil War, right?" I was referring to the war in Vietnam LOL. I wonder how old this kid really thinks I am?

I have been asked when colour was invented - old newsreels are all black and white, right? So the world was all black and white, right? So when did colour happen?

When DS was about 5 or 6 (he is now 42) we were discussing TV. I explained that TV did not come to this area til I was 15 yrs old, and my family did not have one til I graduated High School at age 17. He looked totally shocked and asked, "Mom, what in the world did y'all do, sit around and look at the Radio???"

My icemaker is broken. DD's friend was hanging out here Saturday and was pouring drinks. She asked for ice and I handed her a tray from the freezer. I kid you not-this child says to me-what's this and how do you use it? I was floored--and reminded my husband that he needed to fix our icemaker so our daughter would not have to be embarassed! Most kids these days assume their parents and their parents' friends grew up wearing animal skins, eating with their hands and hunting dinner with a club. LOL Patsy Patsy

Yes, the wedding was beautiful. Sorry, I thought I had posted here! The dress came out great. Unfortunately, I really should have taken the whole day off, instead of just half a day. It was drizzly, and my hair wasn't right, and my skirt was a little wrinkled, and the drizzle made my face shiny. Our photographer was a big let-down, so we sat at a studio last week to have a portrait done. We weren't happy with those either. Oh well, at least we're married!! Thanks for asking, Lee ann Weddingdance

Mine always thought when I was a kid that everything was black and white. They also used to tell me stories, about before they were born, when they were little birds! I have no idea where that one came from! LOL!

Jan: A couple of the Wal-Mart stores here in Oklahoma City have clientele that look as though they eat with their hands and hunt dinner with a club. LOL Man, some of those stores attract unusual people, to say the least. Patsy Patsy

My 4 year old knows how to spell Dad and Mom and she likes to give us animal names that begin with the same letter as Mom and Dad. She says things like... Mom is a Monkey... and Dad is a Donkey... |
