Does anyone belong to any Yahoo groups other than this one? In particular 'elnasergers'?

I wrote a very nice bio about myself (even if I do say so myself) and I was denied membership. I know these groups have to be careful because of spam/porn and bad members, but I even listed my dealer, machines owned, years sewing....I just received my first serger as an early birthday present and could use some experienced know how.

It was actually searching for their group that I found this one. Well I am glad I did. This is truly the best forum I have ever been active in! Thank you for letting me vent, I guess I am just acting like a kid with my feelings hurt b/c I didn't get chosen for the team.

I, personally, have not found the yahoo groups that I belong to to be of that much help and offer any really valuable information. But that is just my feelings, personally. This board seems to have the most practical and best tips, hints, advice that I've found anywhere on the web.

I've belonged to the Serge-it list for many years.
To sign on to this list go to:
www.quiltropolis.com, click on mailing lists, it lists either serge-it or serging.
Signing on to this list is very easy.,,,the members of this list are very helpful with solutions to problems.

Being the "owner" of a couple of Yahoo groups, and member of a few others, I can virtually guarantee you that this was simply a case of someone hitting a wrong key. We have all been forced to go to the restricted format to avoid the garbage that some will post, and in using Yahoo's system of approving new members, it would be fairly easy to accidentally block someone. The people who run these groups do so because they want members and discussion, and there would be no reason to refuse someone like yourself unless something in your ID could mistakingly be construed as indicating a spammer.

You should definitely try to find the moderator's e-mail and write to them. If you can't find this, try to get a present member to contact the moderator. I'm sure you will get an apology and be accepted.
