How do I make a lettuce edge finish? I have a viking serger- 905 model- so it has to be adjusted manually. thanks.

You need stretch in your fabric for this to work. The bias in wovens can work but not a lot, stretchy fabric is the best. Adjust differential to the lowest setting. Shorten your stitch length. Taut serge meaning stretch your fabric as it serges in front of and behind the presser foot so that when it relaxes back to shape it causes the lettucing affect. You need to consult your manual for the best settings as there are other components to this specific to your machine.

Thanks. This worked great. Had problems doing sleeves on a constructed baby jacket. I will finish the edge next time prior to sewing the pieces together I guess, and see if it will be easier to do.
Thanks.
