Hi, Hopefully someone can help me in the serger area. My machine jumped time and now i can't get it back in time. I have it close, but still off enough where i cannot set tensions. I have a brother lock 929D. Is their a manual i could get somewhere for the specifics of setting times and other details. thanks Bonnie preserve memories today for all of the tomorrows

Sounds like you need to take it to a dealer for servicing. Timing a machine is very tricky. The mechanic can probably find out what caused the problem in the first place, correct it and re-adjust the tension settings. |

I live in a very rural area of wv and there are no service places near here. I usually do all my own repairs to my machines and was wondering if there was a service manual out there. Thank you for your reply. Bonnie preserve memories today for all of the tomorrows

How exactly is the machine behaving that leads you to think it is off time?

Well what it is doing is something is hitting once inawhile, then the inner needle thread is breaking and the tension will not adjust properly. I'd have to pull my book out to give specific part names. I think what it hitting is internal between the innner and outer loopers. thanks Bonnie preserve memories today for all of the tomorrows

If it is only hitting once in a while, there may be something floating around there that shouldn't be. A broken piece of needle perhaps?

Mary I have checked machine thoroughly for things that might be in it, but i keep my machines clean all the time. i think it is the upper and lower looper that is hitting somewhere but can't find out just where, that is why i think it is still out of time a bit. I have adjusted the best i can. I even went to the store and looked at another machine identical to mine to see just where everything is at certain movements and tried to adjust that way. What i'd like to find is a manual that shows the machines internal parts, like a trouble shooting guide shows parts in exploded views but in the exact placement. does that make sense. This minor oops has become a major pain in my sewing business. Ready to scream!!! Bonnie preserve memories today for all of the tomorrows

Did you hold the serger upside down to see if a broken needle tip isn't hiding from your sight? Also, are the needles inserted all the way up and it is not the needle that is ticking? Also, could a needle have turned a bit and needs re-positioning? |
