Hello, I recently purchased a euro pro 100-546 on HSN. This serger did not come with much information and I am afraid of changing the thread from the white already on there to any other color thread. I tried using it to hem up a t-shirt that was too long and did an okay job. I bought accessories, such as the extra feet but do not know how to change them and there are no instructions anywhere telling me how. Does anyone know this particular serger? And does anyone know where I can get more information on it? I have searched high and low but have not found more than a few words about this serger. Did I make a bad purchase???? I hope someone can help me out with my dilemma. Thanks so much.

Sew Grannylike, to change your threads you can tie on the new threads in tiny knots onto the threads that are already on the serger. Run the machine and put your tensions at 0 when the knots pass through the tension discs. Then reset the tensions. You also might thread the new thread into the needles by hand at the very end of this process. |

I have a Euro-Pro serger, which I purchased this past spring. I don't remember the model number, but I will look when I get home tonight. (I'm at work). I change the thread as Klynne2 suggested, works like a charm. As far as the feet, I also have other feet, but haven't changed them yet. I have been just using the foot that came on the machine. Mine came with a manual, but I also ordered from Amazon.com two other serger books. Again, I don't remember their names, but will get that information for you. They have helped me more than the machine manual. For my first serger, I really like mine. Liz Happy sewing/quilting/crafting

I thank you for your response, I guess I will have to order some serger books too. I wanted to try to just snap off the foot that came with my machine but was afraid I'd break something so did not. I really want to see what the other feet do! Let me know if you are able to and how you like them, ok? I would appreciate knowing the name of your books too. I'm glad you like your serger. I really want to make some awesome outfits that look professionally made. Thanks again! Sew Granny-Like

Hi Sew Granny, I have this serger and I love it. It has a differental feed that most lower cost serger don't have. It has an automatic threader for the bottom looper also. I love mine. I haven't tried all the feet that came with mine which is 7 all total but I'm in the process of taking lessons at the local Hancock Fabric to learn all the techniques I can do with my serger. Mine came with a workbook that is step by step on the how to's. I also have a book called "Serger Secrets" that is very helpful. As far as Euro Pro, I haven't found out how to contact them for getting parts for my machine either. I purchased mine on HSN 3 years ago. Mine is the 545 I think. I am getting close to having to buy a new blade for it and don't know where to get it from. I'll have to check with a local dealer and see if he can help me with where to purchase them from. |

I checked my model and it is a EP550. It has snap-on feet. The books that were recommended for me are Creative Serging and The Complete Serger Handbook. I like both of them. Happy Sewing, Liz Happy sewing/quilting/crafting

Hi Mother in law, It's nice to hear that you like your serger. I did not get much from my order from HSN, that's for sure. I had to order my other feet and other accessories. I sure wish I had a step by step workbook like yours. I don't really know what a differential feed does....lol. I will try to find classes in my area. Thanks so much for your post. Sew Granny-Like

Sew Granny, the differential feed feature lets you adjust the serger to feed the fabric in different ways. If your fabric puckers you can adjust the diff feed sto hold it straighter. You can also use it in the opposite way. You can gather and puff very easily ..stretch or not stretch. It's all in the motion of the feed dogs. |

I also just bought this machine and promptly proceeded to sew over a needle. Where do you purchase blades to replace? I'm having a nightmare getting through on thier customer service line and HSN was not the least bit helpful. Thanks! |

Cidell, JC Penney's sells Euro-Pro Sergers in their catalogue. If you call them they might be able to help. I would also suggest that any sewing machine repair shop near you might be able to help with a new blade. They usually stock blades of several kinds. |

I'm sorry to hear that. I have never needed to replace anything yet. My Euro-Pro also came with an extra blade. But, you can try this site, they carry Euro-Pro parts. www.sew4less.com Happy sewing/quilting/crafting

www.allbrands.com has them and also www.sewingmachineoutlet.com has them. They are mail order but they both sell the machine and the blades. Hope this helps. |

I also bought the additional thread with my euro pro serger and found out there wasn't very much thread on them at all. I haven't used my serger much at all but know the ladies in this forum are all very knowledgeable. Your in the right place!

Cidell, many new sergers come with extra blades in the accessories box. Did you check to see if one might be there? |
