What would be the best differential setting for stitching on the neckline of fleece fabric? And since I am asking, :) ....what would be best stitch length using Perle Cotton? Anyone???? Don't want to mess up.....AGAIN.

Thank you.

Well, ladies, I bit the bullet and got the job done. Right or wrong, it is done. I am not experienced with the serger yet but, hopefully, with more practice it will come. I feel a little better knowing that 19 others didn't really know either. hahaha
I certainly will be jotting down all these numbers for future use.

Hope your holiday is a happy one.

It is hard to say what setting to use on fleece not knowing the kind of serger or what stitch program you are using. I have 3 sergers and on 2 of them I do not have to adjust the diff. feed for fleece. As for stitch length it depends on which stitch you are using. But it is good that you got the job done ok.

Kylnne:
It was not so much the fabric being used (just threw that in) as it was the "neckline" or inside curve. Guess I didn't give enough information. If you adjust the differential in one direction it gathers and in the other, it stretches. I was not sure as to the degree of adjustment. My books did not address that. I know that, when using the 2 thread wrapped overlock with decorative threads, the stitch length is shortened but my information did not give the settings for this.
This proves one thing.....I don't spend enough time with my sergers. Maybe a good New Year's resolution can be found here. I will not be making mental notes for sure. lol Pen and pad in hand at all times.

Jada:
The stitch length I used was 1.5 and the differential was set at 2. Adjusting the differential will help to form the inside curve of the neckline. I also used the left needle with the converter for the upper looper and the wide stitch width. I am going to check out some books and do a lot of practice before my next big project. These adjustments are not for the 2 thread wrapped overlock stitch alone. You may need to change these settings, depending on your serger.

Thank you for responding.
