Mum is definitely of the opinion that English is a separate language from American. Needless to say she is English. Left when she was 6, but will be English until the day she dies.
Mind you, a lot of New Zealanders don't speak English either!

So true! My husband had a Kiwi biology teacher whose accent was so thick they all got completely lost when she started talking about M.N.O. acids, (amino) Yiss!

Back in the dark ages when I was in school, my french teacher had a very thick German accent. :nervous: We had some very interesting conversations.
