I have a new child in the family...a Bernina 1300. It seems to combine the best of my 2000 DE with the 5 thead 335 Bernette serger that I had (that did chainstitching too) and adds the 3-4 thread coverstitches too. So, instead of adding a third serger for coverstitch, it is like having a 3 in 1. The neat thing is that it threads like my 2000 which is very easy to thread. I think that I will really like it!

I moved into the sewing room last April. Until then I was "homeless"...all over the house. The room is only 7.5X14. The cutting table takes up slightly over 6 feet of the length and embroidery/sewing tables (U) take up the rest. The equipment is so tight that the quilting table of my 200 actually goes under the cutting table and the computer corner table is on the wall by my serger, not next to the 200, but it is so close together that you only have to "spin" to get to it. The other wall is in storage furniture. The ceiling of the room slopes, so it isn't so bad to have sewing tables at the edges where I couldn't really stand up anyway. I'm moved much of my "handy dandy" gadgets to the walls on peg boards. Sadly, as long as I am in this room, the pattern files cabinet (I found one at JoAnn's when they were moving) is going to have to stay in the garage. Although I have most of the walk-in closet for storage, my dd's longer dresses are on one side and I don't have a place to move them, so I can't quite utilize all of it yet, one dress form and my tubs of fabric are also in the garage. The location is nice though. It is right off the kitchen and the den of the house where everyone likes to stay (and over the cellar in case I need to take the equipment downstairs). This is all connected by a 3.5 square foot hall with mirrors on 3 doors which works well for fittings! I'm going to sell my 335 serger because it was just a secondary/backup that I used for chainstitch. For now my 2000DE sits on the quilting table next to the cutting table with the 200. The new serger is in a sewing table with the 1530 and computer. It's snug but it's mine!

Hey Jan, Is Friday your birthday? My new baby is going to be born Thursday!!!! Shoot.......I could have had two of my favorite people born on the same day. :bg: That's okay you'll both be my favorite people anyway, I'm sure.

Hey everyone, My monitor on the main computer in my house when belly up so now I'm having to use this slow thing in the sewing room until I can get to the office supply place and get a new monitor. The internet service on this one is slow as grandma moses so be patience with me.

About the baby, I'll let you know when the little lady gets here. I hope she comes quick but the way she was going tonight the nurse on duty tonight that she has said it looks like late evening tomorrow. I have my grandson here sleeping on the sofa, he wants to go to school tomorrow bless his heart, it's his classes turn to go to the second grade classes and read to them. He's in 4th grade and should be in 6th but now he's making all "A" and "B"'s this year so Bianca his step Mom is doing something right with him. I will talk to you all tomorrow if I can get back on here. Hopefully I can get some pics of the baby by the weekend on the net for all to see her. Hugs to all. Susie
