hey all... finally!!! I'm getting my new serger on Monday!! I've been waiting for this machine for over a month now... I think I posted the tale before... my dad got me the viking 936 for christmas, which is a great machine, but since I have some arthritis, and I don't think that's going to go away, I decided I'd really rather have a Babylock with the jet air threading... unfortunately, my local dealers were asking anywhere from $1850 to $2100, which just seemed a lot more than I was willing to pay... I put out a call to my internet friends to let me know about dealers who might offer a better price... the local babylock dealer told me that If I could get a written quote, he would match it!! one of my friends came through with a quote from Klaiber's sewing center in Indiana for $1500 for the Evolve... My local dealer hemmed and hawed a bit, but finally agreed to match the price...so Monday.. I get my new baby!!! I'm so excited!!! sorry this is so long, but I wanted to encourage anybody out there who is looking for a machine and thinks the price their local deale is giving them is too high.. If you know what you want, and you know the price you want to pay, and you're willing to be patient, you can eventually get the deal you want... MO life is too short, not to explore

Mo you are going to love it. You will have so much fun and just watch how more creative you will become. If you haven't bought some serger books already you might want to stop in at your public library. There is so much info now on serging. Get some books with the colored pictures to see how pretty those stitches can look. |

Suz... well, I didn't get it on Monday... it had to come from their East side store to the west side store, so I didn't get it until late wednesday afternoon.. picked it up, brought it home...opened the box...HMMMM something not quite right here... somehow not all the parts were in the box... whether they accidentally sent a demo machine or what, who knows... in any event... I called the dealer bright and early Thursday am and told them the story... they said, no problem, they'd bring another one over... so today I went in and we switched machines...this time I opened the box before I left the store and went through everything to make sure all was there... so tomorrow I'm going to play all day... I had hoped to play tonite, but I'm just too tired... I have my first owner's guide lesson on Tuesday at 10:30... that should be fun... and yes, I'm definitely going to have to get some serger books... I think somebody recommended a couple on another thread, so I guess I better check that out... Can't wait to get started!! MO life is too short, not to explore
