 Congrats! That's the same machine that I have. The only place I know to get a manual is from the company, I think it costs about $13.00. I love my machine, but it can be a little tricky when it comes to learning how to properly thread it. But once you figure it out, it's a piece of cake. One more thing to know about it, you can't use cheap thread. If it says "Made in Mexico" don't even think about buying it! It will mess up the tension and take forever to figure it out again. If you have any basics questions about it, let me know if I can help. Maybe I can scan some of the pages and email them to you.

Did you do a search for the manual on the net? Sometimes you can download them for free if its an older machine. I paid $7.50 for my manual for an old Singer machine that was given to me.

Try sewingusa.com. That's the place I got my manual from.

Did you ever find a manual? I was looking at the brother web site today and found that you can download the 1034d manual for free. The 1034d and the 929d are the same exact machine, they say that they have a few diferences, but the basics are the same. You can find it at : http://www.brothermall.com/accessory_supplies.asp?mscssid=E5843D9D20D94E2B81D D7CF9CE64C5BD&dept_id=45&model=1034D I hope this helps.! :bluesmile
