The boss of a Neil's company needed to call one of his employees about an urgent problem with one of the main computers. He dialed the Neil's home phone number and was greeted with a child's whisper.

"Hello."

"Is your daddy home?" he asked.

"Yes," whispered the small voice.

"May I talk with him?"

The child whispered, "No."

Surprised, and wanting to talk with an adult, the boss asked, "Is your Mommy there?"

"Yes."

"May I talk with her?" Again the small voice whispered, "No."

Hoping there was somebody with whom he could leave a message, the boss asked, "Is anybody else there?"

"Yes," whispered the child, "a policeman."

Wondering what a cop would be doing at his employee's home, the boss asked, "May I speak with the policeman?"

"No, he's busy", whispered the child.

"Busy doing what?"

"Talking to Daddy and Mommy and the Fireman," came the whispered answer.

Growing concerned and even worried as he heard what sounded like a Helicopter through the earpiece on the phone the boss asked,

"What is that noise?"

"A hello-copper" answered the whispering voice.

"What is going on there?" asked the boss, now truly alarmed.

In an awed whispering voice the child answered, "The search team just landed the hello-copper."

Alarmed, concerned, and even more then just a little frustrated the boss asked, "What are they searching for?"

Still whispering, the young voice replied along with a muffled giggle:

"ME."
Take care,
Donna

Funny.
It actually reminds me of my husband.
My MIL told me that when he was 3 years old, she searched and searched for him and couldn't find him. Her neighbors helped look and still they couldn't find him. She got scared and called her husband home from work. He and several men he worked with helped look for him. They found him hiding underneath the front porch laughing.
And he wonders why our son was such a difficult child. :nervous:

Oh that hit too close to home. When my daughter was 10 she and two of her brothers were staying with my mom for a month during the summer. Susan had broken her arm when her older brother was pushing her too high and wild on a rope swing so she was feeling a little "persecuted". One afternoon my mom got on to her about something when Susan thought she should have gottten on to the boys so she went off and pouted. She sat down behind the diningroom door that didn't open all the way because of the buffet and fell asleep in the small space there. When dinner time rolled around she sent one of the boys to call Susan and when he couldn't find her she sent the other brother. Things got chaotic from there. What woke Susan up was the helicopter being landed in the street in front of the house. When she realized they were looking for her she got scared that she would be in trouble so she stayed hidden. A neighbor coming in the front door (which no one ever used) and going thru the dining room to the kitchen saw Susan through the crack. Susan was in trouble but not nearly as much as she imagined. She did get a talking to from a police officer but my mom was so glad to find her safe she didn't get on to her at all.

My seventeen year old daughter called me 1/2 hour after school ended. She told me she had gotten swarmed by bees. She has a lot of bad allergies, so it really scared me. She said they had been in her hair, under her clothes -one even went up her nose. So, I told her when DH got there they should just go straight to the hospital.

She said "Why?". So I told her with her allergies she might have a really bad reaction, and I didn't want to take any chances on it happening on the way home (we're thirty miles out of town). She still seemed a bit confused, so I asked "How many times were you stung?" and she said "Oh, I didn't get stung at all. They just crawled all over me".

:bang: :bang: :bang: I was really relieved to hear that. But couldn't she have said that first?
