:bang: My serger became possessed yesterday, shortly after I made the STUPID comment to my husband that I hadn't had a problem with it for months. Of course it heard me and went bonkers. I rethreaded it four times, changed the needles, cleaned it , oiled it...and still it misbehaved. Before I threw it out the window, I deserted it and cut out patterns the rest of the afternoon. Two days later, without doing a thing, it is back to its old reliable self. Thank you all for listening; sergers have a twisted little mind of their own :monkey:

My serger also has uncontrollable fits. I too, leave it sit for a few days and it will be just fine. Who knows what posseses them.

My serger has been fine since it came home from the hospital, but it has on occasion, had a hissy fit for no reason, PMS maybe?? I alway thought it was because I was such a clutz, somehow, it has inherited that from me. This evening I darn near took out the ironing table, iron and myself into the fireplace by tripping over the basket of projects on the floor beside the machine, getting my foot caught between the basket and the hearth, good thing no one else was around to see me do the dippidy doo doo dance!

I can join you on this one right now. My serger has decided that it does NOT want to edge finish my shantung suit! It keeps hanging and doing all kind of weird things. No matter what I adjust, it just does NOT want to sew. Now we've been partners way too long (13 years) for it to behave like this!!!!

Laura, I am currently in a cast from an ankle break in July! I have gone from a cast to a brace now back to a cast,, all from slipping off my porch while admiring my gladiolas. Last year I badly messed up my other leg when I was throwing a bag of garbage into the trash bin. My sisters called me Grace as a child. At 48, I am still living up to the name. Welcome to the sisterhood of the Klutz!!

Patti - ROTFL. I am sorry I am laughing so hard but I can see me doing that. Sometimes all my DH does is shake his head. My lovely daughter has inherited my graceful ways too - scary. I ended up breaking my leg in 4 places falling off a 2" tall runner of a dog sled, course we were going pretty well at full speed at the time, I would never wish a broken bone on anyone, they HURT. So why back in the cast - is it not healing right?
