Well, I'm working on my first project on my new Singer 14sh654 overlock and I've already gotten stuck. I strongly suspect I've bent or gotten out of adjustment the loopers. The lower (left) looper is trying to pass behind the upper (right) looper. I think it should pass in front. Is there a way to adjust these loopers or am I going to have to send it to a shop already. The nearest repair shop would probably be about a 3 hour drive. Any help and feedback would be great!

I just posted in the other thread to you so bare with me repeating..I suggest you try rethreading your serger if you haven't already done so. Make sure your lower looper thread goes over the upper looper arm and thread your needles last. I hope this helps your problem.

Thalia, STOP. Most likely your upper looer has moved. It pivots. The upper looper should almost or lightly brush the front of the needles when it is moving from left to right. It should almost brush the back of the lower looper on the up stroke. This is not a user adjustment and if set improperly can cause very costly repair. The model number you listed indicates where it was purchased. Take it back and get it exchaged while they still will. That company often gets hard to deal with after 90 days.
Have fun or don't do it, Tom

Thanks, Tom, I'll probably do that. I appreciate the help. I do not leave close to any repair places, and I too often try to do too much of my own repairs. I'll call on my warrenty.
