My sister is visiting and brought her serger but forgot the manual. I am trying to learn to thread the machine so I can teach her. My problem is with threading the lower looper. It has a hole to the left of the point of the looper and looks as if the thread needs to come from back to front through that hole and then front to back through the looper at the point. I have tried using a couple of needle threaders but they will not go through the hole and I cannot get the thread lined up from the back. I did a google search but was unable to find instructions so thought someone here may have the same machine (or similar) and could help me. Any and all instruction will surely be appreciated.

TIA

The threading page HERE (http://www.sewusa.com/index.htm) shows a diagram for the 307, and I'll bet it's the same. Hope so.

Jorja,

Thank you so very much. I am printing the instructions and will give it a try. I am also going to bookmark this site and I really appreciate your help.

You're very welcome, I hope it works! Sergers can make you crazy even with a manual :bg: .

Luv2Sew,
My serger manual tells me to open the door on the side of the serger and move the wheel until the pointed piece is as far to the left as it will go and insert the thread thru the tubular part, then move it back to the right and thread it thru the hole at the end .. (mine on my serger looks almost like a 7...) I hope this makes sense.. :bg: :bg:

Thank you Libby.....

When I open the door it exposes the free arm but I can not locate a tubular thingy or anything to pass the thread through.

I live 45 miles from a dealer but talked to her today and she recommended a person here so I will be taking it to him today. I am trying to talk my sister into trading it in for one that is easier to thread. Of course, this one may not be hard once we learn how.

Thank you again for responding and it is really appreciated.

That thingy is the 7 shaped part I was talking about.. BUT I forgot to say it looks like a very short squatty 7 and the hole is in the top part of the metal and it takes the thread over and out the groove in the other end..
