Hi,

I am living in a small town where I can find only a normal sewing machine cotton, but not any spool of overlocker thread. Would you mind telling me more about the material of the overlocker thread? I can tell if I see the right overthread spool but I really don't know how to describe correctly (eg, the material...) so the seller can order one for me. Please help! Many thanks.

Standard serger thread comes on cones, usually from 3-6000 yards each, is 2 ply instead of 3, and is polyester. Even the better serger threads are not nearly the quality of good 3 ply sewing machine threads, and are MUCH cheaper to purchase.

Thank you very much Bill, I know what is overlocker thread material now. I had a part time job just doing simple overlocking task (10 years ago), the overlocker thread they supplied never had a label on it... Thanks again Bill
