Hello:

I was very excited to get into sewing again for a project and purchased an used Baby Lock BL - 5180, I learned that it takes a special type of needle not available from my local dealer. Does anyone have a good source for older Baby Lock needles?

Thank you.

Hi Laura

Hopefully someone that owns this model will respond soon. But just in case...

I checked the spec sheet Schmitz sent me and your model is not on it. From my personal experience, the best way is to call a LOCAL Baby Lock dealer and email Baby Lock then compare notes. Baby Lock question form can be found on http://www.babylock.com/help/contactus/

When I bought my used Baby Lock and emailed them, they were very responsive and courteous.

The needle is a DCX1F, and should be available from almost any shop.
