I was reading this thinking " what is she on about...." when I realised we had a fundamental difference in pronouncuation (say it with an English accent Vincent van Goff Verti Goff Gotta Goff Stop and Goff etc) must be like you lot trying to read Burns. You got me back! love and kisses, Jan

That is great! Now for another language. My parents are from Holland. "van" is like "vahn" and "Gogh" is an awful lot like clearing your throat. Tough sound to make if it's not your native tongue. Dh calls Dutch a "hairball" language........ with that hard gutteral "g" sound. You made me laugh. Lennie |

Depends on in which part of the country you live. For such a tiny country they have so many dialects and can't understand each other from one end to the other! My folks are from the The Hague (Den Haag) area. Lennie |
