I just had to post about my new purchase today. My lovely beautiful Huskylock 936. I was using an old decrepid Babylock from the dark ages who's tension is just out of whack and needs service in a terrible way. (it was my "learning" machine)

I am so excited and just wanted to share with people who would understand.

Thanks :bg:

Wow, Tammy!!!! I feel your excitement, I am so happy for you. That is quite a big jump from your old serger to a lovely 936. You're gonna love it. Congrats and enjoy.

Very exciting. I hope it gives you many happy sewing years.

Haven't made the move to a serger. I keep thinking it's a machine I just don't need. I read the posts and one day I might be convinced. It might be like the old microwave. Who the heck needed one of those? Now we can't live w/out one.

Have fun. Lennie

Good for you! I have the 910 and love it and since I've never had a coverstitch I don't feel I'm missing anything but I'm always excited to hear what people think of their machines so keep us posted!

Thanks everyone! At the moment I have it set up with only 4 threads. I attempted 5 threads the other day and didn't get it right since I could not devote my complete concentration with my little 3 year old trying to "help" :bluesmile

I will definitely post about the coverstitch when I have mastered it. My classes start next beginning of April and I hope that will clear a lot of things up for me.

Also wanted to mention that I can't afford it either! Ha-ha! JK. Actually at Joanns the Viking dealer has 12 months same as cash so it was weird but great going home with this great machine without spending a dime! Also on this card all of my future purchases are 90 days same as cash. I think I need a new sewing machine...seriously

Tammy, if you need a new sewing machine you might check out the new Viking Sapphire's on the Husqvarna website. They are brand new and most dealers don't even have them in yet. They have the largest sewing area and longest free arm with an added 10 inches. These new models have some wonderful features including dual lighting and a sensor foot that raises and lowers automatically and adujsts the foot pressure to the type of fabric. Only two models are shown on the website and there are also some on line news releases from VSM out with some pictures of the Sapphhires. I heard there is a third Sapphire model yet to come.
The Viking site also shows a new computerized model added to the Viking Emerald line.
I hope you have fun with your new serger. Soon you will be serging up some new clothes for your little one.

Hey Tammy,

How do you like it now that you've had some classes and it's been just a little while? Got the threading down? Like the coverstitch?

Dh is buying me a serger for my b'day so I'm doing a little research. I'm checking them out at the Quilt, Sew, Craft Festival coming up mid-May.

thx, Lennie
